The project is located in Manda Bay, Lamu County, at the northern end of Kenya's coastline. lt is a key project under China's "Belt and Road" initiative and won the ENR Global Best Projects Award in the "Airports/Ports" category in2023.
The main terminal is 1,200 meters long with three berths and a yard area of 800,000 square meters. During the port opening ceremony, Kenyan President Kenyatta stated that Lamu Port has the potential to become the primary trans-shipment hub for goods to Africa, significantly boosting the local economy and strengthening Sino-Kenyan cooperation.
CEEG provided the SZ-10000/33/11 series products for the project. Despite tight deadlines and heavy workloads,the service team worked closely with the contractor to ensure smooth progress, creating a showcase project that represents the growing friendship between China and Kenya.
