Recently, CEEG successfully completed the production and delivery of a 220kV/13.8kV/60MVA power transformer custom-built for the Spanish power grid’s synchronous condenser system. This marks another technological milestone for the company in the field of high-end special transformers, contributing to the upgrade of Europe’s power grid.
As the “heart” of the grid’s reactive power compensation and voltage support system, this transformer is designed to drive large synchronous condenser units, playing a key role in enhancing grid stability and energy efficiency. Facing extreme operating conditions such as ultra-low impedance (only 5%) and high short-circuit current impact, CEEG overcame multiple technical challenges with its outstanding short-circuit withstand capability, creating a highly efficient and reliable piece of green energy equipment.

With high-strength transposed conductors and optimized winding technology, the mechanical support and clamping strength are enhanced, ensuring the transformer maintains structural stability and safe operation even under short-circuit shocks up to 20 times the rated current.

Advanced finite element analysis (FEA) techniques are used to perform comprehensive simulation verification of the electromagnetic field, temperature field, and short-circuit strength, ensuring reliable performance of the product under extreme operating conditions from the design stage.
(四)Enhanced Overexcitation Capability, Adapted to Complex Conditions
The magnetic circuit design and silicon steel selection are optimized to address the long-term overvoltage operation of synchronous condenser units, improving the transformer’s overexcitation withstand capability and ensuring stable performance even during system voltage fluctuations.
